Baritone Ambrogio Maestri stars as the larger-than-life title character of Verdi’s comic masterwork Falstaff, leading an extraordinary ensemble that also features soprano Angela Meade as Alice, mezzo-sopranos Stephanie Blythe as Mistress Quickly and Jennifer Johnson Cano as Meg, and baritone Franco Vasallo as Ford. Soprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Paolo Fanale are the young lovers Nannetta and Fenton, rounding out the cast in Robert Carsen’s lively, 1950s-inspired staging.
