World Oceans Day Cleanup (Marine Park)

Come celebrate World Oceans Day by cleaning up Marine Park with our partners United by Blue, Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy, Marine Park Alliance, GreenFi, and Tiny Spoon Chef.
We will come together to help preserve the health and beauty of the largest park in Brooklyn, Marine Park. Volunteers will remove marine-bound debris from the park, shoreline, and surrounding trails. Marine Park is a haven for various bird species, including migratory waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors. Our work will help to protect this ecologically diverse and critically important protected area.
Join our cleanup crew for a chance to win a United by Blue backpack made out of recycled plastic and stick around for free catered lunch by our partners Tiny Spoon Chef. Environmental non-profits from the NYC area will be tabling to show how you can get more involved in their amazing efforts.
All cleanup gear (gloves, pickers, buckets, & trash bags) will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gloves if preferred. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes, and don’t forget sun protection and rain gear (just in case! ☔️). Lastly, be sure to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. 💧A water cooler will be available for refills.
Getting there: There is street parking along Gerritsen Avenue. We will meet at the end of Gerritsen Avenue at the corner of Gerritson and Lois Avenue. We encourage volunteers to take public transportation via the B31 bus if possible because parking is limited.
We cannot wait to sea you there!
