In recent years, Sashiko-style mending has made a comeback after originally being created during the Edo period of Japan to lengthen the life of kimonos.
Now, people are using it to give their favorite jeans or shirts a little more wear. This class will teach students the basics of this classic repair technique by perfecting our skills through patching a hole in a piece of scrap fabric. Students can then take this sampler of the technique home to use as a reference later when fixing their favorite clothes.

Needle felting is a versatile craft that can be used to make simple and whimsical items, or very realistic creations.
In this class you will learn the basic skills needed to make a simple needle felted sculpture. After you master these basic techniques, you will be well on your way to designing and creating your own original works of art.
