Lunar New Year Parade in Brooklyn Sunset Park

On Sunday , February 9th from 11.30 am to 2:30 pm – The Brooklyn Chinese American Association Chinese New Year Parade begins at 50th Street and 8th Avenue in Sunset Park in Sunset Park Brooklyn.

Since 1988, the Annual Chinese New Year Celebration Parade has been bringing in the richness of the Chinese culture to the Brooklyn as well as promoting unity among neighborhoods. To honor the tradition, firecrackers and lion dances are used for the traditional ritual cleansing of homes and businesses to usher in a year of good luck. There are also live performances from the local schools and senior centers to show their holiday spirits.
