A Film: History of The Narrows Botanical Gardens (Bay Ridge Library)

Join us in the 2nd floor meeting room to learn about the Jewel of Bay Ridge: the Narrows Botanical Gardens!

We will be showing a film about the history of the Narrows Botanical Gardens with a Q&A afterwards. Light refreshments will be served.

NBG was established in 1995 by a small group of local residents who organized a neighborhood clean-up of 4.5 acres of abandoned parkland between the Belt Parkway and Shore Road. Today, it’s one of NYC’s most enduring volunteer gardening initiatives, with 17 distinct and beautiful gardens and exhibits. NBG is a grassroots effort by volunteers who take pride in stewarding the land. NBG aims to be a place of peace, and connection to nature for the public. We also provide sanctuary for native turtles and birds, and inform the public about gardening for wildlife.
