Growing Mushrooms in the Garden (IS.318 Project Roots Community Garden)

Grow your own, indoors or outdoors!

In this workshop, participants will learn how to use low-cost and low-tech methods to easily start growing gourmet mushrooms in indoor and outdoor gardens. We will cover two methods of mushroom cultivation: how to grow oyster mushrooms in bags using straw, coffee grounds, and similar low-cost materials; and how to grow wine cap mushrooms in raised garden beds using wood chips.

Participants will leave with a small supply of oyster mushroom spawn to start their own growing projects, while supplies last.
