Fourth Annual Open Garden Day

NYC Parks GreenThumb will be hosting Open Garden Day NYC! Community Gardens across the city will open their gates to the public from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 (rain or shine). If you would like to participate, please fill out this form. We are asking all gardens who are taking part in Open Garden Day NYC to schedule a free activity or event for the public to enjoy, along with some of our city’s finest community garden spaces. Activities can include: arts and crafts, music performances, composting, planting, a workshop, or feel free to suggest your own activity. Activities should not take more than 15-30 minutes, capped at 35 people or less (depending on garden size and layout), all attendees should wear a mask, hand sanitizer should be provided, and disinfect surfaces as needed. If a garden that is larger than average seeks to admit more than 35 people to a garden and believes that they can do so safely and while social distancing, they can contact their GreenThumb Outreach Coordinator to seek an exemption and provide a safety plan for the day. Please note that all gardeners should follow the health and safety guidelines at the bottom of this form for any and all activity that they are providing. The first 50 gardens that sign up will receive a banner for their garden gate. We encourage garden groups to submit the form by Friday, April 23rd to be eligible for the banner.
