Food Safety for Urban Gardeners

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021 at 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Free

While many urban farms and gardens are excluded from federal food safety regulations like the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), gardeners should still be implementing best management practices to prevent food-borne illness. This workshop will provide foundational knowledge of what “food safety” looks like in a small-scale context and examples of best practices to implement in your garden space to ensure the health and well-being of those who volunteer at, visit, and harvest from the garden.

Please RSVP on Eventbrite to receive the link to join the webinar at: foodsafetyforgardeners.eventbrite.com.

Facilitated by Yolanda Gonzalez, Cornell Cooperative Extension. GreenThumb gardeners can download the 2021 GreenThumb Gardeners’ Handbook for all related guidelines and policies on our website here: bit.ly/GTGardenersHandbook2021.
