Festival Minokan: A Celebration of Haitian Culture (Wyckoff House Museum)

Festival Minokan invites all members of the community to participate in the rich traditions of Haitian culture and Haitian Vodou. Together we’ll honor our spirits and our ancestors, praise the Earth, and rejoice in song and dance. Join us as we explore the history of Vodou and the Haitian diaspora through artist’s talks, dance, song, and food. This year, Festival Minokan will be focusing on the sacred site of Seremoni Nanchon Nago.

History, Talks, Workshops

4 – 5:30 PM History of Haiti independence and Seremoni Nanchon Nago. Artist Talks, Instrument Demos, Song & Dance Workshops

Ceremony

6 – 8 PM Performance and Presentation by Fanmi Asòtò. Nago gathering and ceremony around the altar and fire.

Festival Minokan is free to participate and all ages are welcome. Traditional food, drink, and crafts will be available for purchase.

Health & Safety

• Face masks are recommended. We will have extra masks if you do not bring your own.
• Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the park and event.
• We recommend using the restroom before your arrival. There are two port-o-sans on the property.
