What Lives in the East River? (Brooklyn Bridge Park)

Discover the amazing biodiversity of the East River as you get hands-on and up close with our marine life touch tank. Participants 14 years of age or older can learn how to use a seine net to humanely catch and release organisms in the river. Protective waders and all equipment will be provided. This is a free program. Registration required.

Accessibility Note: Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions. This program takes place on Pier 4 beach where the terrain is sandy and rocky. There is no shaded areas available, expect full sun. There is no seating provided, but there are rocky steps nearby. Closest bathrooms are at the boathouse around 460ft from the beach, at the Boathouse.
