Hosted by Waterfront Alliance and the Rise to Resilience Coalition. From the increasing extreme weather events to rising sea levels, we must tackle not only how to stop the climate crisis, but how to become resilient and adapt to it. Join a discussion on the many viable solutions that must work hand-in-hand for New York City. There is no silver bullet, or single solution, to address the extreme weather challenges across the five boroughs. In this webinar, we explore current approaches taken by the federal, state and city governments, including the Army Corps’s New York-New Jersey Harbor and Tributaries Study, to prepare for extreme weather events, sea level rise, and urban island heat effect. We will explore the critical need for sustained advocacy and coalition-building to ensure all of the many strategies become reality and are equitable, implementable, and actionable.
