Please join us along with CM Mercedes Narcisse’s office for a volunteer cleanup at Canarsie Beach in Brooklyn!
This once small fishing village saw its population boom after WWII and at one time was a major competitor to Coney Island. The Pier and beach remain a hotspot for fishing, paddling and picnics. Located within the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area, Canarsie Beach and salt marsh also remain hotspots for marine wildlife and birds.
The cleanup will run from 10 am to 12 pm. Gloves, garbage bags and pickers will be provided.
Please wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. 💧
Thanks to Council Member Mercedes Narcisse for supporting our environmental stewardship programs.
