Join NYC H2O with Invenergy, Arthur Kill Terminal and Leading Light for a talk about the future of Off-Shore Wind Energy in NYC waterways!
Join NYC H2O, Leading Light and Inverenergy to discuss Arthur Kill Terminal (AKT). In Oct 2022, Empire State Development was awarded $48M by the United States Department of Transportation Maritime Administration’s Port Infrastructure Development Program to construct Arthur Kill Terminal (AKT) as an offshore wind staging and assembly coastal seaport on Staten Island to bring carbon-free energy to the NY region
The infrastructure needed to create and maintain these structures stands to inject hundreds of green jobs into the local economy. With half of the US population living in coastal areas, the off-shore wind has the potential to provide a local, stable renewable energy source that doesn’t emit green-house gases or pollute our local waterways.
