The fifth annual GreenThumb Open Garden Day NYC will take place for two days on Saturday, June 4th and June 5th, 2022 (rain or shine) at community gardens across the city!
On this special day there will be free activities and events for the public to enjoy, along with some of our city’s finest community garden spaces. In the past there activities have included: arts and crafts, gardening workshops, yoga, garden tours, and more!
Hundreds of community gardens are opening their gates to the public for a weekend of free activities and exploration. For more information, including a map of all the gardens, activities being offered, and times, please visit the Open Garden Day NYC events page.
Community gardens are volunteer-run green spaces where people can come together around growing food and community. Gardens across the city are seeking new members to plant produce and flowers, host events, maintain community spaces, and contribute extra hands for garden projects. Beginners and experienced gardeners are welcome! Open Garden Day NYC is a great way to meet the garden group members and explore your neighborhood community garden.
Brooklyn events are listed below. Visit Open Garden Day NYC Events for the many events in the other boroughs.
