Open Studios: Fogo Azul (BK Bridge Park)

Sunday, September 8th at 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Free

Fogo Azul return to Brooklyn Bridge Park for an Open Studios performance, in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

Fogo Azul NYC is among New York City’s best and most powerful performance group. The New York City-based all-women, trans, and non-binary Brazilian Samba Reggae drum line Fogo Azul (Blue Fire) was born at the intersection of founder and Buffalo, NY native, Stacy Kovacs’ passion for Samba Reggae, her deep respect for its cultural roots as a music of protest and resistance, her belief and activism in support of gender equality and her sense of civic duty in the current environment to publicly awaken and inspire people to resist oppression and exercise their power to uplift society —loudly.

Fogo Azul will have three performances, on Sundays: July 14, August 11, and September 8. View all dates here.

The Open Studios program presents park spaces as an open studio to practice, develop, and present their art to the public.
