15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep – Bush Terminal Park

Join Brooklyn Solid Waste Advisory Board and Riverkeeper for a cleanup at Bush Terminal Park from 9:30 am to 11:30 am for the 15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event.
Volunteers will meet at Bush Terminal Park at Marginal Street and 43rd Street, Brooklyn, NY. Parking is available near the meeting location.
We recommend all volunteers to bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer.
Each year on the first Saturday in May, more than 2,000 volunteers come together across hundreds of miles of shoreline in New York City and the Hudson Valley for a day of service for the Hudson River. Volunteers clean up tons of trash, plant trees, and remove invasive plant species.
Over 14 years, Sweep volunteers have completed 1,463 projects and removed 396 tons of debris, including 2,352 tires, and planted or maintained thousands of trees and shrubs. Once-neglected areas have gained year-round stewards, and rivers and creeks are better for it.
Volunteers must register in advance. Have fun and help take care of the river!
