City Nature Challenge NYC 2026

Help document the biodiversity of our city using iNaturalist during the annual City Nature Challenge!

This year will be NYC’s 10th City Nature Challenge and the 11th CNC overall! We hope you’ll join us in one of the biggest participatory science events of the year! Over 600 cities around the world will be working together to find as many species as we can in our cities. For more info and educator resources, visit: www.citynaturechallenge.org.

1. April 24 – April 27, 2026: Taking pictures of WILD plants and animals. (Wild means that it wasn’t put there, and is not being taken care of by people.)

2 April 28 – May 10, 2026: Uploading observations and identifying what was found.

3. Results will be announced on Wednesday May 13, 2026.
