Prince’s Classic, Purple Rain! A victim of his own anger, the Kid (Prince) is a Minneapolis musician on the rise with his band, the Revolution, escaping a tumultuous home life through music. While trying to avoid making the same mistakes as his truculent father (Clarence Williams III), the Kid navigates the club scene and a rocky relationship with a captivating singer, Apollonia (Apollonia Kotero). But another musician, Morris (Morris Day), looks to steal the Kid’s spotlight — and his girl.

Safety considerations:
- Please keep your fur-babies at home, for everyone’s sake. SummerStarz does not allow any pets at our movie nights. The movie nights are popular and can very crowded. It can be a safety issue for your dogs and people, especially children.
- Please take out of the park everything that you bring in. Let’s not encourage the rats with leftovers and dirty containers.
- Please get a free ticket through Eventbrite so that we’ll be able to contact you if needed.
Getting to Transmitter Park by public transportation:
- SUBWAY: G-train to Greenpoint Ave stop. Walk 3 blocks west on Greenpoint Avenue (past Franklin St) to Transmitter Park.
- BUS: B43 to Greenpoint Avenue stop. Walk 3 blocks west on Greenpoint Avenue (past Franklin St) to Transmitter Park.
- NY FERRY: Greenpoint stop. Walk 2 blocks south to Greenpoint Ave. Turn right onto Kent St and walk 1 block to Transmitter Park.
