This workshop is an introduction to Sashiko, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique. Sashiko stitching is a beautiful way to mend clothes and create custom designed textiles. Sashiko (“little stabs”) embroidery is easy to master and can be very meditative. Each participant will choose a simple pattern and complete their own piece of Sashiko embroidery that can be turned into a patch for mending clothes or a coaster.
Give your clothes a new life while you turn them into pieces of art in this free workshop taught by Althea Gaskin Feurich. Beginning needleworkers welcome. Supplies are provided, and you are welcome to bring a piece of denim clothing and your creativity.
Limit of 16 adults. If registrants are not present when event begins and we have space, we will accommodate last minute participants.
Registration will open two weeks before the event, on August 10th at 10:30 am.
