Fermentation 101 (Tehuti Ma’at Community Garden)

Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Free
Transforming your garden staples into year-round nourishment

Come learn about live cultures and the ancient art of fermentation with Justine and Hope!

In this workshop, we’ll come together to transform the vegetables from your garden or lying around in your fridge into yummy, nutritious fermented creations using only a few simple ingredients. So if you’re wondering what to do with that head of cabbage or bags of carrots, come learn how to preserve them for future use. We will cover safety considerations when fermenting, some of the history of fermentation, and address any questions that may arise.

This is an all-ages event and good for people who are just starting out with fermentation!

Facilitated by Justine Garcia and Hope Johnson.
