Movies With A View: Jurassic Park (BK Bridge Park)

Thursday, August 4th, 2022 at 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Free

Celebrate the return of Movies with a View and our 22nd season of Brooklyn’s beloved outdoor film series!

On Thursday, August 4 join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy for Jurassic Park (1993, rated PG-13, 127 minutes), as part of our 2022 theme “Away We Go”.

In Steven Spielberg’s massive blockbuster, paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park’s mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt. Based on Michael Crichton’s best selling novel; the film won three Oscars, including Best Visual Effects.

Lawn doors open at 6pm and the movie begins at sundown (around 8:30pm). Smorgasburg will provide tasty treats and drinks all evening along the Pier 1 promenade, now starting earlier at 5pm, featuring a selection of NYC’s favorite food vendors! Beer and wine concessions will be available for purchase for adults 21 and over.

The pre-movie lineup includes a DJ brought to you by Brooklyn Radio, and a short film by local filmmakers, selected by BAM Film. Details to come.

Free bike valet will be available thanks to Transportation Alternatives.

This event is part of the Festival of New York!
