The Art and Science of Composting and Bokashi | GreenThumb GrowTogether

Friday, April 22nd, 2022 at 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Rain date: Saturday, April 23, same time. Tickets will be available until two days before the event. This will allow us time to prepare for the attendees who have  registered in advance. Walk-ins and people on the wait list are welcome to attend and observe, but supplies aren’t guaranteed.

Studies have shown that there are similarities between the soil rhizosphere (near the roots of plants) and the human intestine. This means there are direct connections between the life in the soil and the life in our own gut flora. The act of taking the scraps of food you leave and feeding it to the earth is foundational to our well being. Food for you is food for the earth. By understanding simple recipes to feed the earth, you can invite microorganisms in the earth to thrive.

Facilitated by Jae Youn Lee, Cooper Street Block Buster Block Association Community Garden.

Jae Youn Lee strives to be the best Urban Farm Educator she can be. In caring for the planet she believes we heal and maintain our own total wellness.

Please visit the GreenThumb GrowTogether Conference Guide for a full list of workshop descriptions, facilitators, and other details. The guide is also available as a map.
