Join the Urban Park Rangers for a discussion on the history of independence movements throughout the Americas in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Explore the chronology of Latin American revolutions, the evolving identity of American Latinx, and the connections between these stories and New York City. Standing near the site of the first sparks of the Battle of Brooklyn, we’ll reflect on how struggles for sovereignty—from the past to the present—continue to shape communities locally and globally.
