Sugar Sugar! (Domino Park)

Thursday, June 18th at 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Returning for its second edition this June, Sugar Sugar! transforms Domino Square’s waterfront amphitheater along the East River into a festive, open-air stage for free experimental performances.

2026 Events: A DJ set begins at 7pm. Performances start at 8pm and run until 10pm.

Wednesday, June 3 & Thursday, June 4 ~ Shared Evening: DeliaDelia + Pussypaws Puppetry

  • DeliaDelia! The Flat-Chested Witch! Actor and clown Amando Houser invites you to an unhinged clown hour of self-discovery. Spurred by the witch hunt on trans rights in the United States, Houser’s alter ego DeliaDelia is a flat-chested witch from the swamps on a quest to become a “real girl” and join a human basketball team.
  • Pussypaws Puppetry: That Paradise Place. Inclusive puppet troupe Pussypaws Puppetry presents an exuberant performance in which the love, sex, and fantasy lives of artists with disabilities blossom, pulse, sing, and sparkle. Based on 12 original love stories shared by disabled artists and adapted into puppetry spectacles, this musical celebrates eroticism as an essential element of our shared humanity.

Wednesday, June 10 & Thursday, June 11 ~ Shared Evening: Julia Antinozzi + Isa Spector

  • Julia Antinozzi. Choreographer Julia Antinozzi’s experimental work delves into the intersection of postmodern dance and ballet. Created specifically for Domino Square, this performance explores the relationship between dance and musicality. The work will be performed to live music by Andy Boay, a New York-based musician who has performed in Tonstartssbandht since 2007.
  • Isa Spector: Dionysus at the Equinox. Look at this view. This larger-than-life shining view. Almost blinding, then something like madness. Singing, dancing, darkness. The sounds of the city. Up the hill and through the trees, something new approaches. An animal? Something bigger. Something worse. An androgynous God.
Artist Isa Spector, who combines formalism and the absurd, presents an adaptation of Euripides’s The Bacchae, set in a park on a perfect summer evening.

Wednesday, June 17 & Thursday, June 18 ~ HOLE PICS

  • THIS IS A HOLE. THIS HOLE IS IN THE DOMINO SQUARE AMPHITHEATER. THIS HOLE GIVES SHOWS.
Performance art collective HOLE PICS brings one of its extravagantly queer performances to Domino Square for a pulsing, sweaty summer night. HOLE PICS brings together drag performers, dancers, poets, and experimental performance artists working with the body, light, fluids, and fantasy as raw material for expansive, mind-blowing, gender-f*cking productions. HOLE PICS was founded by MTHR TRSA and is produced with Buffy Sierra.

Wednesday, June 24 & Thursday, June 25 ~ Shared Evening: Kat Sotelo + Malcolm-x Betts

  • Malcolm-x Betts: Falling castles and broken dream. Malcolm-x Betts, an artist whose work explores embodiment, liberation, Black imagination, presents an improvisational dance performance. In a series of unfoldings that attempt to reach for otherwise. What is imagined unfolds into a deconstruction of the proposal. An unfurling into the abyss of what is seen, unseen, referenced or imagined at the end of the day everything is broken. Perhaps the only thing holding us together are fragments of the beyond.
  • Kat Sotelo: IS THIS BEAUTIFUL OR AM I TIRED? A chaotic, sequin-drenched birthday spectacular teeters on the edge between glory and failure. Part magic show, part pop concert, Kat Sotelo’s performance strives for transcendence, only to collapse into something softer, stranger, and sadder.
