Join NYC Parks GreenThumb for the Seventh Annual Open Garden NYC on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 (rain or shine)! Hundreds of community gardens are opening their gates to the public for a weekend of free activities and exploration.
Our GreenThumb community gardens are volunteer-run green spaces where people can come together around growing food and community. Gardens across the city are seeking new members to plant produce and flowers, host events, maintain community spaces, and contribute extra hands for garden projects. Beginners and experienced gardeners are welcome! Open Garden NYC is a great way to meet the garden group members and explore your neighborhood community garden.
If your community garden would like to participate, please fill out the Event Request Approval Form and be sure to answer the Open Garden NYC question to register your event. Your group can participate for a few hours on a single day or both days. We are encouraging all garden groups who are planning to take part in Open Garden NYC to host a free special activity. Activities can include garden tours, arts and crafts, musical performances, volunteer projects, and much more.
Brooklyn events are listed below. Visit GreenThumb Community Gardens page for the full list as well as many events in the other boroughs.
