North Brooklyn Boat Club

Official website: http://northbrooklynboatclub.org/

The North Brooklyn Boat Club is dedicated to enabling and advocating for human-powered boating on the waterways bordering Greenpoint/Williamsburg Brooklyn. The organization enables local citizens to be effective stewards of the ecology, recreation and freedom that the waterways engender.

The NBBC consists of local kayakers, canoers, sailors, environmentalists, boatbuilders, community leaders and activists. They are an open group and invite anyone with an interest in boating, open space, environmental education, and nautical recreation to join the public events and open meetings.

Since their inaugural meeting in June 2010, they have received generous support from numerous partners and organizations and would like to formally thank the following: Council member Steve Levin, Assemblyman Joseph Lentol, GWAPP, Hudson River Foundation, Broadway Stages,Open Space Alliance, City Parks Foundation, Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center,Newtown Creek Alliance, Box House Hotel, Allocco, Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club.
