The North Brooklyn Community Boathouse 2021 Public Paddle series is bringing it all back home!
We missed you in 2020! And we are thrilled to announce that our Public Paddle series is back for 2021!
And even better, we are launching the public paddles from our old boatyard at 51 Ash St., just against the Pulaski Bridge in Greenpoint, Brooklyn!
The Public Paddle Series lets NBCB do what we do best
We’re kicking it all off on Saturday, June 5th (scheduled from May 29 due to poor weather), 12-4 PM! We’ll have the big canoes on the water and ready to share with our community. We’ll have canoe tours with views of Manhattan, tasty beverages and snacks on hand, and friends and neighbors gathering together on the shores of Newtown Creek.
Because of COVID concerns, we are running the boats at half capacity. So each trip will be limited to six people, plus the expert NBCB guides. From 12-2, tickets are available on Eventbrite. An Eventbrite reservation or physical ticket will allow one person to paddle with us or two people who share a “quarantine pod” — family members who live together.
From 2-4 PM, we welcome walk-ups and holders of physical tickets, which we are distributing to other local community organizations.
We ask all participants to wear a mask while in the boatyard or in the boats.
