This winter introduction to beekeeping with Carin Zinter will leave you buzzing with excitement! Inside the warmth of our indoor loft classroom, Carin will provide you with a crash course in apiculture, walking participants through a brief history of beekeeping, the issues around beekeeping today, and the importance of apiculture in maintaining a healthy food system. We’ll discuss the anatomy of a honey bee; the biology and life cycle of the colony; as well as equipment, hive architecture and basics in beekeeping safety.

About Carin Zinter
Carin is a beekeeper and educator who, through her business, C & C Orchards, provides raw, local honey to restaurants and pastry chefs in the northeast. In 2017, C & C Orchards Wildflower Honey won a Good Food Award! In addition to keeping bees herself, Carin is the lead educator for Brooklyn Grange’s season-long beekeeping training program. She is certified as a Master Beekeeper through the Eastern Apicultural Society (EAS).
